Vacation and a Holga 135

We are leaving tomorrow as soon as I get off work to head to Altoona PA (my wifes hometown) for a little bit of relaxation and visiting family. I am extremely excited to get a break from life for a little bit. I haven’t taken more than 3 days off work since I started back in September. I also haven’t been out of Florida since our honeymoon.

We are making a stop in at Asheville NC to do a hike or two hopefully. As long as the rain holds off. I have always wanted to visit as I hear it is amazing. I can’t tell you how excited I am to see mountains again Ghandolf. Mountains! But seriously I am really excited to see them. Something about the beauty of them just calls you home once you have lived near them before.  Anything else just seems foreign.

There might not be too much activity on this blog while we are away. It will difficult for me to post anything as I edit all my pictures on an iMac, meaning I can’t bring it with me. I might try to do some editing on my iPad and upload those but we will see. I do know that I plan to take a TON of pictures so I will have plenty to post as soon as I get back.

New Holga 135

My wife got me this sweet Holga 135 as an early birthday present. She wanted me to be able to use on our vacation so she gave it to me tonight. I am so excited about it. It get’s the Holga “look” that everyone wants, but it uses 35mm film so it isn’t too expensive to use. I plan on shooting extensivily with it on this trip, as well as using my Rebel XT. I am also going to use my iPhone to take a fair amount of video and I plan to make a little movie documenting our trip when I get back. I will be sure to post it here for you to see.
